Chapter 9:

Prosperity
Through His
Word

It is only fitting and proper that we should experience prosperity through the Word of God.

Prosperity through His Word is the only true prosperity.  God is excited to see how our lives are made prosperous through His Word.  So many of us need to be instructed in the Word.  We have been slack concerning His Word and slack concerning His promises, but God wants us to know that we can experience prosperity through His Word.

Just as the rain causes the earth to prosper, once the Word of God is manifested in your life, your life begins to prosper. His Word begins to unfold and reveal the nature of God. God is exposed through His Word. The more you know His Word, the more you know God. After all, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1).

God’s Word prospers wherever He sends it and if you line up with the Word, it causes you to prosper in your every endeavor.  His Word is a seed; it springs forth with life.   It is ready to bloom.  It is pregnant, ready to give birth.  It contains revelation; it is ever changing; it is ever producing. The Apostle Peter described the Word of God as living forever. Even this earth shall wither and fade away, but the Word of God will endure for eternity (1 Peter 1:23-25).

Go With the Flow

Allow the prosperity of God to flow through His Word unto you. When you line up with his Word, it is inevitable that you will prosper.  If you do what God says to do, God must honor His Word and He will force your life to prosper. After you have meditated on God’s Word and acted upon it, something happens. We find that we shall make our way prosperous and then we will have good success (Joshua 1:8). God has set up His system of prosperity to flow through His Word. If you hear His Word and then act on it, prosperity follows.

If we keep and do God’s Word, prosperity is ours (Deuteronomy 29:9).  You cannot show me one man who keeps and does the Word of God who is not prosperous.  Everyone who catches onto this promise and walks in His Word will find prosperity flowing out of His Word.  Grab hold of God’s Word because prosperity is already locked up inside of it.

Some of you may disagree with me and say, “Well, prosperity does not come through His Word. It comes through tithing.”  Well, the principle of tithing is found in His Word.  You can not properly understand the principle of tithing until you have first consulted His Word. The instruction to give is in His Word.  Every instruction for making you prosperous in life is contained in His Word. You cannot be prosperous without His Word.

Try It, You’ll Like It

King Hezekiah kept the commandments of God and lived a prosperous, victorious life. Because of this, the Lord was by his side wherever he went (II Kings 18:6 - 7). Hezekiah was careful to please God by keeping his Word. He believed and acted on Joshua 1:8; he took to heart Deuteronomy 29:9; he lived his life by Isaiah 55:11.  He tried it, he liked it, and prosperity followed. If you have been slack in the Word of God, make it your business to become prosperous in his Word.

When you read His Word, make it a point to envision yourself in His Word.  View God’s Word with yourself as the main character.  When you read about Jesus healing, don’t see Jesus doing the work, see yourself doing the work —- that’s prosperity in His Word.  Envision yourself walking where Jesus walked and doing the things He did.  For so long I viewed the scriptures from the eyes of Jesus, but I have come to the realization that Jesus wants me to put myself in His shoes.  Likewise, He wants you to see yourself healing the sick, raising the dead, accosting the doubters and opening prison doors. Prosperity begins in the Word that God has ordained.

As you prosper through God’s Word, God will lay your foundations with sapphires and make your windows of agates and your borders of pleasant stones. This is a true example of how His material gain will follow you and overtake you!  Not only that, but your children will be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of your children. In addition, you will be made secure; no terror or oppression or fear shall come near you and anyone who dares to come against you shall fall. God lets you know that He made Satan and since He made him, He knows exactly how to handle him. No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper. This is your heritage because you are a servant of the Lord (Isaiah 54:11-17). You will be so prosperous that no wicked or evil force can prosper against you.  And this prosperity is found in His Word. If your finances are in disarray, your marriage on the rocks, your job causing you undue stress or you are under great academic pressure, just declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Know that in righteousness you are established and you shall be far from fear, terror and oppression.

Father of  the Groom

Before we endeavor to do anything, God has already sent angels to prosper the way that we will take. In Genesis 24, Abraham sent one of his servants to find a wife for his son. The servant was hesitant to undertake this venture because Abraham made him promise that he would find a wife for his son. Because of all the pressure the servant was under, Abraham gave him the following words of comfort: “Do not worry, the Lord is going to send an angel with you.  I have no doubt you will prosper” (Genesis 24:40). God has commissioned unto us heavenly angels who are sent to prosper our way. They are an added bonus. It is as though God says, “Hey, if you have any doubts about my Word, I’m sending an angel before you.” They are sent to perform whatever is necessary to establish His Word and perform it in the earth. Our angels are assigned to enforce the blessings of Abraham in our lives.

As further proof that God sends angels to prosper our path, an angel of God showed up in Daniel’s room one night and said, “I hear your words, and I’m here because of your words” (Daniel 10:12). We find here that angels hearken unto the Word of God. The angels are strongholds, and they do God’s will and listen to his commandments (Psalm 103:20).
